7/31/2008 - JWh Update: Entering the studio + A Fond Farewell
Hello!
Hope everyone is doing well!
It's been a busy few weeks for JacksonsWarehouse.
Many new recordings are floating around at The Tin, keep your eyes peeled assome will be appearing on the myspace's over the coming weeks...
Work is underway on a 'special set' being prepared for our acoustic gig @ The Bassment in Chelmsford on 27th August...
We have undergone a change of drummer and have been preparing for some upcoming studio time!
JWh Enter The Studio...
Over the coming weekend JWh enter the studio for the first time with newlabel, Pebble Beach. We have been working hard on getting a handful of songs ready to be picked as potential singles. It's been tough deciding what will be committed to tape but the decision has been made ... we hope you enjoy the outcome! (Any ideas what you would of picked??) It's a very exciting time to be heading into and we cant wait to get started on the next single and continue to 'move things forward'.
Further info is hopefully round the corner and as soon as we know details they will be passed on...
Change of Drummer...
Finally,some of you may already be aware that Cy is now back on drumming duty for JacksonsWarehouse. Cy was forced to exit JWh when falling ill in early 2007. He has spent a year and a half rehabilitating, but we are pleased to announce his full return to health and it is a genuine pleasure to have him back!
Everyone involved with JacksonsWarehouse would like to thank Ben Rudge for his outstanding contribution to JWh over the last year. Due to him we were able to keep everything moving forward. We played some fantastic gigs, new songs found their way in to the set and we all had a most enjoyable time, playing alongside such a talented young drummer. We wish Ben all the best for the future and look forward to any musical encounters we may share...

Good day !!
The Castlemayne had an external event happening this Friday but it has been cancelled at the last minute!
So ... Together with the venues original music organiser and all round local legend (Joe) we have managed to conjure up a line up of original music all for FREE!!
We will be playing acoustic on the night and so to will 'Filthy Vibrations'.
Also on the bill and playing as a full band will be 'Empyrean'
... and one more act are yet to be confirmed!

We are very sorry for the late notice ... But ... This Saturdays gig, which was scheduled to be held at The Purple Turtle has been changed to the Bitter End in Romford!!
Plus! We will have a coach picking up from Southend Victoria Bus Station (the big bus stop behind Sainsburys!) at 7:15!! This is the first time we have started the pick up from Southend, so hopefully a few new faces or people that usually struggle to make it will be able to attend!
The coach is then set to arrive in Basildon from 7:30 and will pick up from the usual place ... Trafford House (Basildon train station) ... and of course it retains it's usual cost of £5!

Thank you to everyone who came along to the Castlemayne on Friday ... it was truly great!!
Apologies we were on so late, the gig was running a bit behind schedule ... we did our best to get it back on track but these things do happen. We were a bit gutted because we knew a few of you had to leave to attend other plans ... and we had advertised that we would be on earlier ... so big apologies that it didn't quite go to plan. Luckily it was only a few people ... and we do really appreciate everyone staying to watch. Thank you!! x
Everyone seemed in good spirits ... and it is amazing to see more and more people singing the songs back at us >>>>

12/29/2007 - New songs for your aural pleasure ...
Two new songs have been uploaded onto the JWh myspace!
They are:
Suicide - An early demo done at 'The Tin' of a song which has just started to creep into our live set. Its a little slow compared to how you have probaly heard it live, but it still maintains a great feel (Mainly because Rich's bassline is brilliant!)
Black Marc - A home demo of a new song at a very early stage. A lot of work still needs to be done musically but the idea is their and the vocal work laid down by Stu and Si is truly beautiful!
They will be up for a limited time ... probaly around a week and then some new ones will appear!

8/13/2007 - The Castlemayne ...
Hidden in the shady corner of the depleted town of Basildon lies a pub in wait of a musical revolution ... For years The Castlemayne has supported and hosted original music by both local and further afield artists. But ... recently 'The Mayne' was forced to put a stop to all this due to poor attendances at gigs. This surely cannot happen!? Our mission is too get these nights back to their former glory.
On Thursday 16th August we aim to play host to a night of original ... live ... local music ... in Basildon. So ... come on down ... have a sing and a dance ...... get off the couch and get away from the TV. ;-)

You were amazing!
What a crowd and what a night ... and it was on a Tuesday!!
As usual the coach journey home was quite an experience ... all manour of madness and debauchery ... and some good old entertainment from the Donnellys.
Also ... everyone that drove/got the train/walked ... all the neutrals that watched and spoke to us afterwards ... everyone who bought friends along ... all the people that bought the merch ... we got really good feedback from you all and you all seemed to have a great night ... we just really appreciate you coming along and its great to hear you had a good time!!
New gig dates will be up soon ... as I'm sure you can understand its all a bit up in the air at the moment due to Cy still being seriously ill ... but all will be well soon enough!
But ... last night is hopefully a memory that will stick with you for a while ... and will go down as 'one of those nights!'.

Good day all ... hope you are all well!
Apologies for the lack of noise from the JWh camp of late but things have been a bit up in the air. Cy is still proper ill and currently out of action so that has obviously put the past couple of months on hold for gigs ... but ... The Castlemayne gig on the 31st is still going ahead! Lets just say their may be a few surprises to look out for ... ; )
As for releases ... bare with us .. we are fighting each day to get the next single out ... you know how it is in this business ... nothings easy ... weve certainly had our fair share of difficulties.
So ... please stay with us, all will be back on track soon enough! We really appreciate the support all of you have given us over the last couple of years, it dosent go un-noticed and really is much appreciated!! Onwards and upwards ...

4/21/2007 - NO COACH TONIGHT!...
4/18/2007 - Gig cancellations
Good day all ... we have had to cancel a couple of gigs that are on the horizon as our drummer ... Cy ... has been taken very ill! Therefore 25th April at Brannigans in Crawley has been cancelled and so to has 3rd May at Carling Academy. Carling Academy are also due to be holding a festival that weekend so it looks like the gig date may of had to be moved anyway ...
However the next gig at Chelmsford Uni on Saturday 21st April will still go ahead but we will be playing acoustic. Here we intend to bust out the Mandolin, some percussion and maybe even a special guest ... so all in all it should be a very exciting and nerve wracking night!
Once Cy is better JWh will be firmly back in the game and will be aiming to line up a load more top nights out ...

A while back we done an interview with Claire Borley of the Evening Echo. That interview is now available online ... please follow the attached link for similar articles and to rate our interview.

Fears that his bedroom walls would be the only audience for his music are far behind Stuart Brown these days.
He alongside the other members of Jacksonswarehouse, have signed their first record deal with independent label SX Records and are looking forward to the release of their debut EP later this month.
"It was other people's reactions to be honest that stopped it from staying in my bedroom," laughs lead vocalist and guitarist Stuart, "People were just into it."

The latest success comes hot on the heels of winning an unsigned bands competition on London radio station X-fm.
However there is no danger it going to their heads despite having just shot their first video as well, as first and foremost making music is what matters to these boys.
"Our sound is different for every song," explains Stuart who is joined in the band by Cy Chant on drums, Rich Hawkins on bass, Mark Barnacle on guitar and his cousin Simon Brown on vocals.
"We never try to jump on the latest bandwagon. I would say our sound is passionate and emotive and sounds like we mean it."
Indeed the best thing about being in a band according to Stuart is having his song writing accepted by his fellow band members.
"If I have written a song that is important to me and the band agree that is great, " he grins, "and you can't fake that sort of thing."
The five piece hail from Basildon and are more than proud of their Essex town roots.
"We take influences I suppose from modern life in Basildon. We are fiercely proud of coming from Basildon," Stuart declares.
"It is not the best place in the world but there is a great music scene in Basildon, it is just untapped. We are five different people with different tastes and that influences us as well."
Taking their name from a former discount clothing shop in the town has helped the lads established quite a following locally where they are famed for inspiring the only stage invasion at their home venue The Castlemayne pub in 12 years.
It is clear the boys are as fond of their fan base as their fans are of their music, to the extent of laying a free coach to their gigs.
Their appeal lies in the fact they refuse to look or dress the part, preferring instead to let their catalogue of over 90 songs do the talking.
"There is a nod towards the problems the music industry has with our image," explains Stuart, " but we hope to inspire other people to think that if they can do that so can I.
"It feels like we are a proper band. Five different people, with five different tastes who come together as with music rather than being manufactured.
"There is no hoo-ha about us. We are an old fashioned band in that sense. We might look like sh*t but when we get on stage it is the music we want people remember."
With things on the up and up it would be easy to make grandiose claims about the future, but retaining a degree of humility is important to Stuart as the band prepare to select the material for their first album.
"We don't dream of global domination," he grins, "just making enough money to make another album and so on."

Everyone involved with JWh would just like to say a big thank you to everyone that made our trip up to Scotland so successful! The response we received from the Scotish public was amazing and we could not of asked for anymore!

Good day people ... we would just like to apologise to anyone who has not yet received their copy of the 'Hotel by the Sea' EP.
Our distribution company have informed us that all the Pre-Ordered copies of 'Hotel' have been sent out and it is now down to the respective companies to ship them out to their customers ... e.g. HMV and Amazon etc ... companies which we know a lot of you have ordered from ... we have basically been told that these companies are so busy this time of year dealing with the usual mass amount of greatest hits and best of's that are released around this time that it can take a while for smaller releases like ours to be processed ... but we have started to receive emails from customers saying their CD has arrived so hold in their people it shouldnt be to long ... just blames the likes of Cliff Richard and U2 for how long it has taken ...

Thats right people Jacksonswarehouse - 'Hotel by the Sea' is now available for hard copy purchase!
Currently Basildon HMV have copies of the EP but they are selling fast so be quick to avoid disapointment ... if their are no copies remaining by the time you make it down there please make sure you ask at the counter whether they have any in stock as the more of you that ask the more copies they will continue to order in! Also if you are unable to make it down to Basildon HMV but are enquiring about it in another HMV or different record store you may be told it isnt due out till 6th November ... this error is out of our hands im afraid but make sure you mention Basildon HMV have copies in stock NOW as they may be able to order from them or elsewhere if they realise other stores are stocking it!
Apologies 'Hotel' never made it in the shops yesterday but it really was out of our hands ... it was partly down to distribution but also because the pre-orders went well which meant more copies where reserved for these orders and none actually made it onto the shelves ... it turnt out that they were intedning to release the single next Monday! ... which is obviously outrageous due to the amount of hard work that has been put in to promoting the 30th and the simple fact that we promised you all this is when the release would be available ... so after kicking up such a fuss ... and not wanting to let our people down with another release date we made sure copies got in the store ASAP!
So ... like I say Basildon HMV are actively ordering them now so get down ASAP and if they have none make sure you ask!
Thank you to everyone who has stuck by us over the last 2 years ... we have been pushing for this for so long and it wouldnt of been the JWh way unless something went wrong ... but ... now due to the best support in the world from you lot we finnally have our release .... thank you!!

10/3/2006 - Chinnnerys Cancellation ...
Good day everyone hope your all well.
Just a quick one to say that our gig at Chinnerys on Friday 13th October has been cancelled ... this isnt down to superstition but purely because we wanted the gig to be right near the release date and now that the release date is 30th October we will be arranging a gig nearer that time and will be announcing that very shortly!

...yes we know its on you tube...we didn't do it....we know it dont look the best...it loses alot of quality....wont be long till the proper version will be available on this site or the SX one...for now you're best to watch it on myspace....its on loads of pages or.....
